Location: Provincia di Vicenza + Smart Working (2 days)
For an important International Group (Food industry) we are looking for a Business Controller.
The Business Controller is a key leadership role responsible for driving financial performance, governance, and business decision-making. The role acts as a trusted business partner for local and international management, translating financial data into clear insights, recommendations, and actions that support profitable growth, operational excellence, and value creation.
The role ensures financial discipline and strong internal controls, while actively contributing to transformation initiatives and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic, international environment.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, they will coordinate a team of two people and actively engage with Operations and the business to improve processes.
What You’ll Do:
As the Business Controller, you will:
- Lead business controlling for the Italian distribution business, ensuring alignment with Group standards and effective collaboration with local and international stakeholders
- Lead and develop the controlling team, fostering ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Act as a business partner to management, providing financial insights, scenarios, and recommendations to support decision-making
- Own the planning cycle (budget, forecast, business plan), ensuring data quality, realistic assumptions, and strong business ownership
- Support strategic initiatives including growth projects, pricing, investments, and M&A/integration activities
- Challenge business performance and assumptions to drive profitability and efficiency improvements
- Own monthly closing and reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery in line with Group and IFRS requirements
- Manage cash flow and working capital, in close coordination with Group Treasury
- Drive improvements in working capital, liquidity, and financial discipline
- Strengthen internal controls and governance frameworks
- Ensure alignment with accounting on financial accuracy and compliance
- Contribute to the development of financial systems and reporting tools
Who You Are:
We’re looking for someone who brings a combination of expertise, leadership, and a proactive mindset.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- Degree in Economics, Finance, or Business Administration
- 5-10 years of experience in controlling within a structured, international companies, preferably with exposure to commercial or operational environments
- Solid financial acumen, with proven experience in analyzing and interpreting P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
- Solid knowledge of local GAAP and IFRS principles
- Experience in coordinating people
- Knowledge of SAP (really nice to have) and the Microsoft Office
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Strong business orientation with the ability to translate numbers into actionable insights
- Ability to challenge, influence, and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced complex environment
