About The Role The Lead Business Analyst role at Medidata is a pivotal position within a dynamic and collaborative team comprising product managers, software engineers, quality assurance managers, and business experts. This role is focused on supporting and enhancing a suite of products related to medical imaging collection and analysis for clinical trials and healthcare applications. The Lead Business Analyst will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to gather and document complex business requirements, translate these into technical specifications, and ensure the successful development and integration of solutions aligned with business goals. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.

Based in Mason, OH, or fully remote, this role offers flexibility while adhering to Medidata’s hybrid office policy, which expects in-person presence as per company guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems analysis, project management, and clinical research, with a particular focus on medical imaging technologies. The Lead Business Analyst will play a crucial role in defining product roadmaps, managing project scope, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions that meet regulatory standards and industry best practices. Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare, or related discipline
  • 4+ years of experience in business analysis, preferably within technology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industries
  • Proven expertise in leading and developing comprehensive product documentation for multiple software projects
  • Extensive experience working with Agile development methodologies across various projects
  • Strong understanding of complex systems architecture, including integrations with multiple systems and technical workflows
  • Experience with medical imaging technologies and data regulations related to clinical trials
  • Proficiency with tools such as MS PowerPoint, MS Word, Google Docs, Vizio, Lucidchart, Jira, Cucumber, GitHub, Bugzilla, Rally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting to C-suite executives
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking at an enterprise level
  • Knowledge of networks, databases, object models, and workflows necessary for informed business decisions
  • Ability to forecast and plan work effectively, monitor deliverables, and manage scope within Agile frameworks
  • Experience training end-users and maintaining detailed documentation on system procedures

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to identify, analyze, and document business processes and requirements, creating user stories and acceptance criteria for system development and integration
  • Engage with IT and technical teams to ensure accurate translation of business needs into technical specifications, supporting system enhancements and integrations
  • Manage project resources by delegating tasks, tracking progress, and providing regular status updates to ensure project milestones are met
  • Define and implement acceptance criteria aligned with quality assurance standards to validate solutions meet business requirements
  • Influence management and stakeholders to adopt process improvements and technological enhancements aimed at optimizing business performance
  • Support complex systems architecture, ensuring efficient integration and functionality across multiple platforms and data sources
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and incorporate innovative solutions into the technological roadmap
  • Make strategic decisions by understanding technical components such as networks, databases, and workflows
  • Plan and forecast work using Agile methodologies, monitor deliverables, and ensure timely releases of software solutions
  • Train end-users on new systems and processes, maintaining comprehensive documentation for ongoing reference
  • Contribute to defining product and solution roadmaps to guide future developments and enhancements
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including preparing presentations for executive leadership
  • Identify and resolve complex, interdependent problems through expert analysis and innovative solutions
