Business Analyst - Business Operations

About This Role

This Business Analyst role supports the launch of a new financial services vertical for Amazon in Mexico. The person will collaborate directly on the infrastructure, data accuracy, and operational experience of consumer credit products. The role acts as a key bridge between operational management, accounting, and technology for Amazon's credit operations, ensuring transaction accuracy, data reconciliation, and incident resolution.

Responsibilities

• Execute accounting reconciliation flows, track monthly closings, and communicate directly with payment platforms and external providers
• Generate queries in SQL, manipulate databases from Data Warehouses, and actively interact with metric dashboards to ensure operational consistency
• Follow up on and resolve complex cases and operational problems affecting the end-user experience, coordinating with technical and business teams
• Identify areas of opportunity in daily processes and implement data-driven operational optimizations based on best practices
• Keep operational process documentation up to date and evaluate compliance with deliverables

Requirements

• Advanced / Bilingual English: Fluent capacity for business conversations, leading meetings, and drafting daily documentation in English (90% of communication with regional teams like Brazil and international teams is handled in this language)
• Proficient in SQL and Excel: Practical mastery extracting data through queries and manipulating financial databases
• Experience in Financial Operations / Reconciliation: Understanding of money flows, accounting reconciliation processes, month-end closings, or operational transactions
• Problem-solving and Process Improvement Capability: Analytical mindset to develop in technology projects or operational launches

Nice to have:

• Experience in FinTech or banking sector companies (credit cards, personal loans, Buy Now Pay Later like Quesky, Nu, Plata, etc.)
• Knowledge of the financial market or consumer credit schemes in Mexico

Important Details

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00
• Contract: initial 1-year contract, with possibility of internal/direct hiring by Amazon based on results, project growth, and KPI performance
