About The Role
The Lead Business Analyst at Sapiens plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between client business needs and technical solutions. Operating with limited supervision, this role functions as the primary client liaison, conducting comprehensive business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit evaluations to ensure that technology solutions align seamlessly with business initiatives. The incumbent will develop detailed business specifications for technical teams, facilitate requirements gathering sessions, and ensure clarity and completeness of project scope. With a focus on reinsurance policy administration, the Lead Business Analyst will analyze business goals, objectives, and processes, making strategic recommendations for process improvements, system utilization, and data management to optimize operational efficiency. This role also involves mentoring junior analysts, supporting project prioritization, and contributing to quality assurance and user acceptance testing to guarantee solutions meet client expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years of business analysis experience within the insurance industry, specifically with a focus on reinsurance products.
• Extensive knowledge of reinsurance policy administration processes and industry standards.
• Proficiency in business process modeling, requirements gathering, and analysis techniques such as Use Case modeling, Storyboarding, and Change Requests.
• Strong domain expertise in areas such as commercial, personal lines, or workers’ compensation rating and underwriting.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex business concepts to both technical teams and end users.
• Experience with relational databases, including SQL Server and/or Oracle.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, MS Project, and Visio.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle and iterative methodologies.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% as required to support client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Lead business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit evaluations to align IT solutions with business objectives.
• Act as the primary liaison between clients, project teams, developers, and quality assurance personnel.
• Define, document, and manage clear business requirements and scenarios understandable to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Facilitate requirements elaboration sessions and functional user reviews to ensure alignment and clarity.
• Develop detailed specifications for technical teams to support system development and enhancements.
• Track project scope and requirements through effective requirements management practices.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to schedule and conduct requirement reviews, testing, and validation.
• Provide input on project estimates, timelines, and resource planning at each project phase.
• Identify gaps, opportunities for process improvement, and potential future enhancements to strengthen client relationships and revenue streams.
• Support sales activities such as product demonstrations, RFP responses, and gap analysis studies.
• Mentor and guide junior analysts, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
• Assist in functional user acceptance testing and ensure solutions meet business needs and quality standards.
