Location: Cleveland, OH – Onsite 5 days/week

Contract: 6-month contract-to-hire

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support application initiatives across their Delivery Services and Pricing teams. Initially, this individual will spend approximately 75% of their time supporting Delivery Services , with the remaining time focused on Pricing, with the potential for that allocation to evolve over time.

This role will serve as a dedicated Business Analyst within a collaborative Agile/Scrum environment, partnering closely with product owners, project managers, developers, testers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, document use cases and user stories, support system enhancements, and ensure solutions meet business needs.

A key focus of this position will be user access and entitlement management . The Business Analyst will help define and document user roles, permissions, and functionality within applications, including developing and maintaining user access/entitlement matrices that clearly identify what different users should be able to view, access, and perform within a system.

The ideal candidate is an experienced, self-directed Business Analyst who can take ownership of their work, navigate ambiguity, and confidently make recommendations while collaborating with the broader team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements for application enhancements and new functionality.
  • Develop detailed use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional requirements .
  • Create and maintain user access and entitlement matrices , mapping user roles to appropriate system permissions and functionality.
  • Partner with business, product, security/access management, and technical teams to determine what users should and should not be able to access within an application .
  • Help define role-based permissions and ensure appropriate levels of access are documented and understood across teams.
  • Partner closely with developers and testers to ensure technical solutions align with documented business requirements.
  • Utilize Jira to create and manage user stories, requirements, defects, and other Agile artifacts.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and team discussions.
  • Perform and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system testing to validate functionality and develop a deeper understanding of the applications being supported.
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and potential improvements within existing business processes and system functionality.
  • Document current- and future-state processes and workflows.
  • Work as an embedded member of the Delivery Services and Pricing teams, adapting to each team's established processes and ways of working.
  • Independently investigate issues, develop potential solutions, and make recommendations to stakeholders.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar application-focused BA role .
  • Hands-on experience creating user access, entitlement, permissions, or role-based access matrices .
  • Experience defining user roles and mapping what functionality, data, or resources each role should be authorized to access .
  • Strong experience with Jira and documenting user stories, use cases, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience with UAT and/or system testing .
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) .
  • Ability to work directly with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Self-directed and comfortable working through ambiguity with limited oversight.
  • Ability to take ownership of BA responsibilities and proactively drive requirements and solutions forward.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with role-based access control (RBAC), least-privilege access, access provisioning, or identity/access management concepts .
  • Experience supporting enterprise or customer-facing applications.
  • Experience working across multiple application or product teams.
  • SQL or data analysis experience is helpful but not required .
