Looking to make a meaningful impact in your community? As a Casual Bus Driver in Cranbrook, you’ll provide safe, reliable, transportation to cover sick days, leave of absences and holidays. You will be trained on different routes/services, like HandyDART, flex and health connections.

What You’ll Do:

  • Safely transport passengers and provide door-to-door assistance
  • Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing mobility aids
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
  • Operate a two-way radio and manage fares accurately
  • Maintain a safe and harassment-free environment for everyone
  • Report any incidents, vehicle defects, or passenger safety concerns
  • Fuel, wash, and check fluid levels of the vehicle
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle as required by Provincial legislation and record any minor vehicle defects onto the vehicle daily

What We’re Looking For:

  • Valid Driver's License - minimum of Class 2
  • Ability to pass the required enhanced criminal record check, and drug & alcohol test
  • Provide a clean driver's abstract
  • Ability to work independently and interact politely with the public and staff
  • Physically able to perform all job duties
  • Exceptional customer service skills

Bonus Points if You Have:

  • Previous taxi or shuttle driving experience
  • Class 1 or 2Q license

What We Offer:
Wage: $33.16 per/hour for Conventional Bus
Training Wage: $23.21 per/hour
Union: CUPE Local 2087
