About This Role
This role involves safely transporting students and staff for St Joseph's Nudgee College on daily routes, excursions, and sporting events. Responsibilities
- Safely operate College buses to transport students and staff on scheduled daily routes, sporting fixtures, excursions, and special events
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle safety checks and report any maintenance or defect issues promptly
- Maintain accurate logbooks, attendance sheets, and route documentation as required
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean, tidy, and well-maintained at all times
- Manage student behaviour during transport to ensure a safe, respectful, and positive environment
- Adhere strictly to transport regulations, road safety legislation, and College policies and procedures
- Assist passengers with safe boarding, disembarkation, and luggage/equipment handling where required
- Respond calmly and professionally to traffic delays, schedule changes, or unexpected situations
Requirements
- Proven experience driving medium-to-large buses or commercial passenger vehicles
- A clean driving record and strong commitment to safety standards
- Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, customer-focused approach
- A reliable work ethic and a positive attitude towards working within an educational community
- Mandatory Credentials: A current Queensland Driver Authorisation (DA) for passenger transport, Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card), and a valid MR (Medium Rigid) or HR (Heavy Rigid) Driver Licence (or equivalent required licence)
