Budget Analyst

About This Role

Working with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting for a Home Health and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) organization is the core of this Budget Analyst role. Reporting to the Supervisor of Financial Planning & Analysis, this position is ideal for an early-career finance professional seeking hands-on exposure to healthcare finance, reimbursement models, and operational analytics. The analyst will assist with financial modeling, variance analysis, and reporting while partnering with internal teams to support informed business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of annual operating budgets and periodic forecasts under FP&A leadership guidance
• Support budget modeling including revenue and expense tracking
• Monitor budget vs. actual results and help identify variances and trends
• Prepare routine financial reports and basic variance analyses for management review
• Support monthly close processes by gathering data, validating results, and preparing summaries
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Partner with billing or revenue cycle teams to help identify reimbursement-related variances
• Work with operations and clinical teams to understand volume, staffing, and productivity drivers
• Assist with cost analysis related to supplies, equipment, labor, and service delivery
• Support ad hoc financial analyses and special projects as assigned
• Maintain financial models, spreadsheets, and reporting templates
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data across reports
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and data organization

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field required
• 1–3 years of experience
