Bouldering Gym Manager

About This Role

This role is for a Bouldering Gym Manager who will oversee all aspects of a new bouldering gym from its pre-opening phase through full operation. The position involves building and leading a team, managing daily operations, ensuring excellent customer experience, and fostering a strong climbing community.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with ownership to hire the foundational team during the pre-opening phase
• Set up basic operational systems
• Drive pre-sales
• Oversee day-to-day operations once the gym is open
• Manage staff performance
• Ensure a positive customer experience
• Oversee the routesetting team
• Maintain facility standards

Requirements

• 2+ years of management experience in a fitness, recreation, or climbing facility
• Experience managing, hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and supervising staff
• Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to create a positive, welcoming environment
• Deep passion for bouldering and the indoor climbing industry
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain before start date)

Important Details

• Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
• Anticipated Start Date: Fall 2026
• Anticipated Gym Launch: Winter 2026/2027
