Bookkeeper

About This Role

The Bookkeeper manages daily accounting operations and ensures accurate financial records for the company. This role suits a detail-oriented and experienced professional with strong experience in accounting platforms, who can support management with reliable financial and accounting deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Maintain or assist in maintaining general ledgers and reconciling ledger accounts regularly
• Integrate accounting processes and implement appropriate tagging of financial records across all portfolio companies
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Generate financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, trial balance)
• Help in preparation of supporting documentation for external accountants or auditors
• Ensure proper record keeping, document retention and compliance with company policies and regulations
• Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports; liaise with AP and AR teams as needed in a timely manner
• Integrate banking systems across all portfolio companies
• Manage any vendor relationships and resolve billing discrepancies
• Manage payroll processing and related filings (as applicable)
• Act as a liaison between various internal teams to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution

Requirements

• College degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in bookkeeping, finance and accounting
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, in English
• Excellent organizational skills, self-starter, ability to identify efficiencies and recommend efficiencies, and operational thinking
• Ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver’s license
• Willing and able to travel across the U.S.
