Provides effective face-to-face instruction in assigned undergraduate courses on a part-time, temporary basis. Responsible for fulfilling and sustaining the duties and functions specified by established appointment and promotion criteria, including teaching and service to the school and community.

- Prepares instruction that reflects stated course student learning outcomes
- Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
- Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour; instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
- Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance, posts grades in a timely manner

Teaching
- Implements curricular and instructional interventions
- Develops student learning outcomes
- Utilizes peer review and coaching
- Applies what has been learned from formative and summative feedback on instruction
- Engages in professional development activities to promote development in the scholarship of teaching and learning

Advising
- Reflects on summative students’ evaluation of academic advising experience
- Assesses reports and perceptions of peers and others regarding fidelity to academic advising roles and responsibilities

Contribution to role-related knowledge base
- Presents at local, state, national and international professional conferences
- Demonstrates publication of works identifying type (i.e., peer review), audience (i.e., journal and journal distribution), and focus (i.e., discovery, application and/or integrated knowledge focus)

- Participates in local, state, national, or international professional agencies

Community Service
- Actively participates in community groups and organizations, as related to the College’s mission

- Participates in committee work at the program, school, or institutional level (delineate roles and nature of participation)

EXPERIENCE
- At least one (1) year of teaching experience, preferred
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology (or related field) plus 18 hours of Graduate credit in a related field;
- Master’s Degree, preferred
