Biologics Analytical Scientist

About This Role

This role as an Analytical Scientist involves applying expertise in qPCR and ELISA within an innovative biopharmaceutical environment. You will be part of an international team of experts responsible for developing, validating, and implementing advanced analytical methods, working on challenging projects that directly contribute to the launch and support of innovative biological medicines. The position offers the opportunity to expand scientific expertise, set up independent studies, and play a key role in transferring analytical methods between departments.

Responsibilities

• Act as an expert for analytical qPCR and ELISA methods
• Perform method transfers from R&D to MSAT, including documentation, training, and knowledge transfer
• Support transfers of validated qPCR and ELISA methods from MSAT to QC, including troubleshooting and preparing transfer protocols and reports
• Design, develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods for existing and new production processes
• Independently set up experiments and analytical studies
• Prepare scientific protocols, reports, and technical documentation
• Manage and share critical knowledge and documentation
• Conduct trend analyses and monitoring of analytical methods
• Investigate analytical deviations and perform root cause analyses
• Present results and findings to internal stakeholders
• Support laboratory activities and small-scale testing

Requirements

• PhD in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or equivalent experience
• Strong hands-on experience with qPCR and ELISA, preferably within host cell impurity analysis
• Experience with analytical method development, qualification, and validation
• Knowledge of protein characterization techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, Southern Blot, and Northern Blot is a plus
• Experience in designing and executing DOE studies (Design of Experiments)
• Good knowledge of statistical analyses and interpretation of method performance
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience within a cGMP-regulated environment
• Able to follow up on multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities
• Willingness to perform both lab-related work and data analysis and reporting
• Strong technical writing skills for protocols and reports
• Dutch language skills
• Fluent in English, both written and oral
