Billing Specialist

About This Role

The Billing Specialist is a dynamic and independent professional responsible for all processes associated with the revenue cycle, including preregistration, charge capture, claim submission, remittance processing, insurance follow-up, and patient collections. This role is part of a 5-person team within a well-established, physician-owned Dermatology practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage all processes associated with the revenue cycle
• Handle preregistration, charge capture, and claim submission
• Process remittances
• Conduct insurance follow-up
• Manage patient collections

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of medical billing and collection practices
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills
• Superior organizational skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficient working with EMR (ModMed) and Microsoft Office preferred
• Excellent phone communication
• Critical thinking skills and ability to anticipate patient needs
• Ability to work independently
• Patience and compassion
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Two years' experience in medical insurance desired
• Dermatology experience preferred
