About the role
Role Overview: Provides direct and indirect psychiatric care under RN supervision for individual or groups of patients, ensuring their needs are met through age-appropriate interventions and therapeutic activities.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes de-escalation, restraint, and seclusion techniques when necessary.
- Processes admissions, discharges, and conducts intake assessments.
- Monitors and documents patient conditions, behaviors, and responses to care.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Administers medications following physician orders and safety protocols.
- Conducts routine rounds, evaluates interventions, and supports patient education.
- Performs additional duties as assigned to support patient safety and care quality.
Qualifications And Skills
- High School diploma or GED required; associate's or technical degree preferred.
- Minimum two years' experience in mental healthcare preferred.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license required.
- Certification in Aggression Management (TEAM/CPI) and Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Strong communication, observational, and patient advocacy skills essential.
