Behavioral Health Associate - PRN

About This Role

This Behavioral Health Associate role is an integral part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, focusing on patient care, supervision, and interaction within a safe and structured environment. The position involves monitoring and reporting patient behaviors, assisting with data collection, and responding to crisis situations. Responsibilities

• Ensure the well-being of patients and provide a safe, positive, supportive, and structured environment
• Maintain constant awareness and supervision of patients
• Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors, and communicate significant observations to the group therapist and supervisor
• Intervene appropriately with patients experiencing a behavioral crisis situation (e.g., suicidal, threatening behavior, elopement) using approved interventions
• Provide education in accordance with the patient's weekly schedule under the supervision of the Clinical Director
• Participate with the treatment team in the implementation of the individualized plan of care
• Report factors that may impede successful accomplishment of the treatment plan to the group therapist and supervisor
• Assist in the admission and discharge of patients
• Engage with patients in activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals (e.g., peer support check-ins, virtual meetings, ancillary services, skill practice and exposure-oriented exercises, environment of care patient engagement activities, alumni visits, open art, gym, recreation, and Brain Center)
• Document in patient records timely, accurately, and appropriately
• Serve as a resource for new patients, introducing them to other patients and staff, explaining programs, and encouraging participation
• Orient patients to the activities program, explaining the benefits of activities
• Initiate and maintain ongoing communication with referents, other health care providers, and family members for care coordination
• Support outcome and satisfaction survey data collection
• Assist with the monthly chart audit process

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required
• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or a related field preferred
• One year of experience working in a behavioral health care facility preferred
