Job Description:

• We are looking for responsible and service-oriented Captains and Stewards to ensure smooth restaurant operations, excellent guest service, cleanliness, and adherence to service standards.
• Captains will supervise assigned sections and guide the service team, while Stewards will support daily restaurant service and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Captain: Key Responsibilities:

• Handle the assigned section and ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Conduct team briefings before every shift.
• Check table setup, cleanliness, and grooming standards.
• Welcome guests and ensure proper table service.
• Take accurate orders and coordinate with the kitchen and bar.
• Monitor food and beverage quality and presentation.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and inform the manager when required.
• Ensure timely clearing and resetting of tables.
• Guide and train Stewards on service standards and procedures.
• Check billing accuracy before presenting bills to guests.
• Ensure effective upselling and suggestive selling.
• Maintain discipline, teamwork, and service quality during shifts.
• Complete opening and closing checklists.
• Report stock shortages, breakages, and operational issues to the manager.

Steward:

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of tables and service areas.
• Set up tables according to restaurant standards.
• Welcome and assist guests as directed by the Captain.
• Serve food and beverages properly and promptly.
• Clear and reset tables efficiently.
• Maintain cutlery, crockery, glassware, and service equipment.
• Assist the Captain with guest service and section operations.
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards.
• Keep the side station clean, organised, and properly stocked.
• Support opening and closing duties.
• Handle equipment and restaurant property carefully.
• Maintain proper grooming, uniform, punctuality, and professional behaviour.
• Inform the Captain about guest requirements and complaints.
• Work as a team and follow instructions from seniors.

Captain: Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of restaurant service procedures.
• Good guest-handling and communication skills.
• Team supervision and leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of order-taking, billing, and POS procedures.
• Upselling and suggestive-selling skills.
• Ability to handle guest complaints professionally.
• Strong coordination with kitchen, bar, and service teams.

Steward:

• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of restaurant service.
• Good hygiene and cleanliness awareness.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Punctual, disciplined, and willing to follow instructions.
• Professional grooming and behaviour.
