Responsibilities
- Provide professional barbering services including haircuts, shaves, beard trims, and grooming consultations
- Utilize various styling techniques such as hair coloring, hair extensions, and hair styling to meet client preferences
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and sanitation protocols using appropriate tools like straight razors and clippers
- Engage with clients through effective communication to understand their needs and recommend suitable services or retail products
- Manage appointment scheduling using salon software such as MINDBODY or similar platforms to ensure smooth operations
- Upsell retail products like hair care items, nail care products, or eyelash extensions to enhance client satisfaction and store sales
- Assist with front desk duties including client check-in/out, retail sales, and maintaining a welcoming environment
- Mentor junior staff or apprentices to foster skill development within the team
Requirements
- Valid cosmetology or barbering license with experience working in the beauty industry
- Proficiency in salon software systems such as MINDBODY for scheduling and client management
- Strong knowledge of sanitation practices and safety standards related to barbering tools like straight razors
- Skilled in various hair care techniques including coloring, styling, and hair extensions
- Excellent communication skills for client consultation and customer service excellence
- Ability to perform retail math calculations for upselling and inventory management effectively
