About This Role
This barback role supports bartenders to ensure drinks flow and good times roll in a fun local spot. It suits an energetic, honest, and reliable individual eager to learn and work hard as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Assist bartenders by efficiently restocking bar supplies, garnishes, glassware, and beverages throughout the shift
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area and dining area, including cleaning bar and dining surfaces, sinks, and equipment in compliance with food service bar safety standards
- Buss tables and clear used glassware or dishes promptly to ensure a tidy environment
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies and equipment with proper technique to prevent injury
- Support kitchen if needed, do dishes
- Ensure all food service and beverage handling complies with health and safety regulations
- Use POS system to clock in and out
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate service flow and address guest needs promptly
Requirements
- Own transportation that works well in all weather
- Able to work night shifts (as early as 1:30 am and latest until 3 am) as well as occasional day shifts
- Willing and flexible to cover other barbacks when necessary
- Able to lift 1/2 kegs, cases of beer, and soda syrup boxes as well as move tables and chairs
- Strong communication skills
Nice to have:
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality environments
- Familiarity with on-location beverage service, bar operations, or catering experience
- Knowledge of food industry standards related to food safety and sanitation practices
- Experience with banquet or catering events
