Being the essential backbone behind the bar that keeps everything running smoothly and efficiently is the core of this job. This energetic role supports bartenders by maintaining a clean and organized bar area, restocking supplies, and ensuring all beverage and food service standards are met. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the food and beverage industry while working in a dynamic venue setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist bartenders by restocking alcohol, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and other bar supplies promptly and accurately
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning glassware, and sanitizing equipment in accordance with safety standards
- Buss tables and clear empty glasses or dishes from the bar and dining areas efficiently to ensure a tidy environment
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies or equipment safely and responsibly
- Support food preparation activities when needed, including assembling garnishes or preparing simple snacks in compliance with food safety guidelines
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for cash handling and order processing with accuracy
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth venue beverage service during busy hours
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, bar operations, or hospitality environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of bar cleaning procedures, food handling safety standards, and beverage service protocols
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and assist customers professionally
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Experience working in nightclubs, banquet halls, catering events, or similar venues is a plus
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order calculations
- A positive attitude with a passion for delivering excellent customer service in fast-paced settings
