Barback

About This Role

This barback role provides essential support to bartenders, ensuring a well-stocked, clean, and efficient bar. The position focuses on maintaining bar cleanliness, preparing and restocking supplies, and offering prompt assistance to bartenders during busy service times to ensure a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a fully stocked bar by ensuring supplies like glassware, ice, garnishes, mixers, and alcohol are readily available throughout service
• Restock items quickly as they deplete
• Assist in setting up the bar at the start of the shift, including organizing equipment, arranging supplies, and preparing garnishes and other essentials
• Keep the bar area, equipment, and storage areas clean, sanitized, and organized throughout the shift
• Wipe down surfaces, wash and dry glassware, and sweep/mopp floors as needed
• Support bartenders by fetching and delivering drinks, ingredients, and supplies quickly
• Help with simple drink preparation tasks as directed by the bartender
• Monitor and manage inventory levels, reporting shortages to bartenders or the bar manager to prevent service interruptions
• Engage with customers courteously and professionally if approached, helping create a welcoming environment while directing any specific orders or requests to the bartender
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations to maintain a clean and safe work environment, including proper handling and storage of all bar equipment and ingredients
• Assist with closing duties by cleaning, organizing, and restocking the bar for the next day

Requirements

• Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting is preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided
• Strong multitasking abilities and quick problem-solving
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Basic knowledge of bar equipment, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and handle physically demanding tasks
• Must be comfortable working in a noisy, busy environment
