About This Role
This barback position supports bartenders and ensures the smooth operation of a fast-paced nightlife environment. The role involves maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and providing excellent customer service to enhance the overall guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist bartenders in preparing drinks and serving customers promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including washing glassware and cleaning surfaces
- Stock and replenish bar supplies, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, and ice
- Help with food preparation as needed, ensuring all items are ready for service
- Buss tables and clear away used dishes and glassware efficiently
- Operate POS systems (Aloha POS or Micros POS) for processing orders and payments
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with guests and staff
- Handle cash transactions accurately while adhering to cash handling procedures
- Support banquet operations during events, ensuring all food service needs are met
Requirements
- Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting is preferred, with a focus on hospitality
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations within the food industry
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor to enhance guest satisfaction
