About This Role
This management position leads the bar team and oversees daily bar operations at Fieldhouse Kitchen & Bar, part of the Towne Hall Hospitality family of restaurants. It suits an energetic, hospitality-driven leader with a passion for cocktails, beverage service, and creating an exceptional guest experience, who is comfortable working behind the bar alongside their team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring consistent beverage quality, efficient service, and exceptional guest experiences
- Actively work bartending shifts, preparing cocktails, serving guests, and supporting the team during busy service periods
- Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and motivate bartenders and bar staff while fostering a positive and accountable team environment
- Develop and maintain cocktail menus, seasonal specials, and beverage offerings in collaboration with restaurant management
- Manage beverage inventory, ordering, vendor relationships, portion control, and waste reduction
- Monitor beverage costs, bar labor, sales performance, and overall bar profitability
- Maintain consistent standards for cocktail preparation, recipes, presentation, and responsible alcohol service
- Ensure the bar is clean, organized, properly stocked, and compliant with all applicable health and liquor regulations
- Build relationships with guests, encourage repeat business, and create a welcoming neighborhood bar atmosphere
- Work closely with the General Manager and Towne Hall Hospitality leadership to achieve operational and financial goals
Requirements
5 years of bartending and bar management experience, preferably in a high-volume, full-service restaurant
- Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine
- Excellent bartending skills and the ability to confidently work busy bar shifts
- Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience with beverage cost control, inventory management, purchasing, and staff scheduling
- Ability to train and develop bartenders while maintaining consistent service standards
- Strong understanding of responsible alcohol service and Connecticut liquor regulations
- Experience with restaurant POS systems and bar inventory procedures
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
