Banquet Server

About This Role

Being a Banquet Server means providing exceptional knowledge of food and beverage menu items, including their origin, taste, and preparation methods, to guests. This role suits someone with a passion for food, wine, and exceptional service, who can communicate guest orders and special requests effectively.

Responsibilities

• Serve guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of food and beverage menu items as well as information regarding preparation methods, including each selection's origin, taste, and preparation method
• Offer pre-determined menu selections to each table
• Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the Banquet Manager or kitchen
• Transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality
• Greet guests in a professional manner and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests
• Assist in set-up of linen, china, glass, silver, and accent pieces for each function according to the banquet event order
• Respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests
• Plate, prepare and serve food
• Assist with set-up and breakdown of banquet events
• Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by management

Requirements

• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Legal work authorization in the United States required

Nice to have:

• Some travel may be required
• Experience in a luxury hotel in food and beverage service
• Strong oral presentation skills
• Ability to follow detailed instructions regarding events
• Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations
