Banquet Server

About This Role

Serving guests in a fast-paced environment is the core of this banquet server role, which involves taking food and beverage orders, delivering meals, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The position suits an individual with previous food service experience who can work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to restaurant guests, restaurant staff, and the culinary production team
• Take food and beverage orders
• Deliver prepared food promptly
• Check with tables periodically to ensure guest satisfaction
• Maintain current and accurate information regarding the menu (preparation techniques, seasonings, ingredients, and plate presentation)
• Suggest items to guests based on expressed guest preferences
• Resolve service issues according to established guidelines
• Assist bus persons, as necessary, in bussing, cleaning, and setting tables
• Maintain cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards
• Deep clean restaurant equipment (tables, chairs, booths, soda and juice dispensers, coffee machines), as scheduled or required
• Operate and maintain equipment as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures
• Complete assigned side work as directed
• Maintain strict confidentiality in all company matters

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to follow all departmental and property policies and procedures
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as business needs dictate
• Ability to share or divide attention among several ongoing activities, projects, or assignments

Nice to have:

• Previous food server experience in a high-volume restaurant
• Knowledge of wine service, table service procedures, and table etiquette
