Banquet Server

About This Role

This role involves setting up and cleaning banquet rooms, as well as serving at a variety of events, from business breakfasts to late-night parties. It is suitable for individuals interested in learning fine dining service skills or experienced servers seeking additional income.

Responsibilities

• Perform related banquet set-up tasks
• Provide immediate attention to all guests upon seating them
• Take beverage orders and serve food in specified station
• Pour and refill wine, coffee, water, and other beverages served with and after the meal
• Clear soiled dishes as needed
• Clean all assigned work areas in kitchen and banquet areas
• Advise supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur
• Assist in closing functions by performing various tasks such as removing linen, subbing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., and re-setting the room for next function
• Attend staff meetings including pre-service sessions
• Assure that all state and local laws and club policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed
• Thank members and guests inviting them to return
• Consistently follow all sanitation-related requirements, including those related to personal hygiene
• Complete other appropriate assignments made by the Banquet Captain
• Ensure that Members and guests are satisfied with service
• Assist in closing functions by performing various tasks such as removing linen, bussing and re-setting the room
• Inform Banquet Captains or Manager of low inventory levels prior to running out

Requirements

• Good organizational, interpersonal, communications and Member relations skills
• Attention to detail and mental concentration are necessary for accurately performing tasks and tolerating frequent interruptions
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Neat and clean personal appearance
• Timely, reliable attendance
• Professional, courteous & respectful attitude toward members, guests, vendors, co-workers and supervisors
• High school education or equivalent
• Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach
• Use of hands and arms to handle, position, move materials, and manipulate things
• Ability to push, pull or lift up to 40 lbs
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screen
