Banquet Server

About This Role

Serving guests at events is the core of this full-time role, helping to bring some of Savannah's most memorable events to life. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys great hospitality, works well as part of a team, and understands that details matter, from a beautifully set table to the timing of each course. The right person is approachable, dependable, comfortable engaging with guests, and ready to jump in wherever needed to make an event successful.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet and event spaces according to event plans and Hotel Bardo service standards
• Provide warm, professional food and beverage service throughout weddings, meetings, celebrations, and private events
• Learn event details and service expectations so you can confidently guide the guest experience
• Serve plated meals, buffets, receptions, and beverage service with strong attention to timing and presentation
• Work closely with Banquet Captains, culinary teams, bartenders, and fellow servers to keep events running smoothly
• Anticipate guest needs, respond quickly to requests, and handle changes with professionalism
• Assist with breakdown, resetting, and maintaining clean, organized event spaces
• Follow food safety, alcohol service, sanitation, and workplace safety standards

Requirements

• Previous banquet, catering, full-service restaurant, or upscale hospitality experience preferred
• A genuine hospitality mindset and confidence interacting with guests
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
• Ability to stay organized and composed during busy, high-volume events
• Professional appearance and a strong sense of personal responsibility
• Ability to be on your feet for extended periods and safely perform the physical requirements of banquet service
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
