Baler Operator

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and practices

• Accurately weigh waste bales and record bale weights on bale tallies

• Load waste bales onto trucks

• Feed waste into the hogger

• Obtain waste loads from production areas as directed

• Maintain a clean and organized baler room

• Clean the baler and notify maintenance of problems if necessary;

  o Daily cleaning out of the overflow box
  o Daily cleaning out of the box in front and behind the chute
  o Daily cleaning of the twister/inserter box
  o Daily blowing out of the radiator
  o Daily cleaning out behind the ram follow safe practices
  o Daily blowing off the baler exterior
  o Daily sweeping of the baler room floor

• Salvaging materials for dunnage and other use

• Perform all other duties assigned by supervision; which may include training other operators to serve as emergency backup.

Skills and Experience

• Candidate must have the ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler; ability to use basic math; read and record accurate measures
• Candidate must have the ability to safely operate a forklift truck and clamp truck; ability to accurately use the scale
• Candidate must also demonstrate a sincere interest and desire to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
• Candidate must have the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of team, a proven leader, goal oriented, self-starter, good communicator and computer literate.
• Candidate must have a firm understanding of driving safety culture, adhering to corporate and human resources policy.
