Baker / Prep Baker

About This Role

Bethany’s Bakery is looking for a dedicated Baker / Prep Baker to join our team. This is a hands-on production role focused on preparing consistent, high-quality bakery items from approved recipes and daily production sheets. You’ll work closely with our Executive Chef / Lead Baker and help keep daily production organized, clean, and on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Scale and prepare ingredients accurately using digital scales and approved recipes
• Mix and prepare cookies, brownies, blondies, raspberry bars, lemon bars, breads, cake batters, frostings, and other daily bakery items
• Portion, pan, bake, cool, finish, label, and store products according to bakery procedures
• Assist with croissant dough and laminated pastry production, including proper dough handling, folds, resting, and temperature control as trained
• Follow daily production sheets, batch quantities, bake schedules, and special-order priorities
• Maintain clean, organized workstations and clean and sanitize tools and equipment correctly
• Follow food-safety, handwashing, date-labeling, allergen-control, and stock-rotation procedures
• Record production yields, waste, shortages, and quality or equipment concerns
• Communicate progress, timing, and issues promptly to the Executive Chef / Lead Baker

Requirements

• Experience in a bakery or food production environment
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to follow recipes and production sheets accurately
• Strong communication skills
