Job Summary: We are seeking a detail oriented, highly motivated, and professional individual to conduct pre-employment reference and verification checks within a busy background screening team. The ideal candidate will be driven to learn about a unique industry while consistently delivering results in a timely manner. They must also possess the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting a variety of deadlines and maintaining maximum accuracy. This role requires integrity and dependability; this role handles extremely sensitive information and an ethical disposition is mandatory.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Complete reference, education and employment verification communications for background screening purposes
- Manage highly detailed processes, and develop rapport in short periods of time
- Contact clients and job applicants via telephone and email for missing or additional information needed to complete their background checks
- Meet established productivity and quality standards
- Clear, concise and consistent documentation of steps completed on each order
- Maintain a pleasant demeanor during challenging interviews
- Other projects and tasks as assigned
Skill Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook required
- Proficient typing skills, including ability to type while completing a verbal interview
- Exceedingly well organized and efficient
- Ability to work independently and follow directions
- Must be able to prioritize and work under stress
- Ability to multi-task while functioning in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate dependability, sense of urgency and high attention to detail
- 6 months of work experience in an office environment that includes working in a team, preferably in a data entry or internet research capacity
- Previous experience in background screening and knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and state laws preferred, but not required
Additional Details:
• Workday is primarily normal office hours (8-5), however there are times during the year that are busier than others.
