About This Role
This Intermediate Back-end Developer role contributes to modernizing critical business platforms and evolving strategic application solutions. Working in Agile, multidisciplinary teams, the successful candidate will develop new features, modernize service-oriented architectures, improve existing applications, and support production systems using a build it, run it approach. The role will focus approximately 80% on Java back-end development and 20% on React.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based microservices, APIs, and service-oriented application architectures
- Contribute to the development and integration of solutions using Spring Boot, JMS, IBM MQ, Kafka, and REST APIs
- Participate in large-scale technology modernization initiatives and collaborate with architects and design teams to improve application solutions
- Develop high-quality, secure, and testable software while contributing to automated testing, code reviews, and DevOps practices
- Support production applications using a build it, run it approach, including troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to delivery automation, deployment pipelines, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing
Requirements
- Intermediate-level experience with approximately 80% Java back-end development and 20% React
- Strong hands-on expertise with Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, API development, and application integration
- Experience with messaging and event-driven technologies such as JMS, IBM MQ, and Kafka
- Good understanding of AWS Cloud, AWS EKS, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, application security, KMS, SSO, and data encryption
- Proficiency with Git, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, JUnit, automated testing, code reviews, and DevOps practices
- Professional fluency in French, spoken and written, with strong collaboration, problem-solving, technological curiosity, and interest in artificial intelligence tools that accelerate software delivery
Nice to have:
- Experience with Robot Framework, ReadyAPI, or Postman
- Knowledge of Jira and Confluence
- English is an asset
