About This Role
This engineering role involves designing, developing, and optimizing backend systems for a modern cybersecurity platform. The Backend Developer will work hands-on to build and shape new products that directly influence how the business scales, collaborating with other engineers to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver scalable, resilient backend systems built for performance and reliability
- Build and maintain APIs and services that enable platform features and seamless integrations
- Produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested code to support high-quality web applications
- Investigate and resolve backend defects, performance bottlenecks, and technical issues
- Work closely with Frontend Engineers to connect user-facing features with backend services
- Translate technical and design requirements into practical, effective engineering solutions
- Improve application performance, availability, and reliability while minimising service disruption
- Develop reusable components, libraries, and shared code to accelerate future development
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business needs
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, engineering practices, and industry developments to drive continuous improvement
Requirements
- Strong experience with .NET and C#
- Experience building APIs and working with microservices architectures (OpenAPI knowledge beneficial)
- Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases (e.g. SQL or NoSQL)
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Important Details
- Work format: Remote with 1 day a month on-site in London; once a quarter paid for socials and Hackathon
