Back End Developer

About This Role

Building and scaling the core infrastructure for a micro-drama OTT platform is the focus of this Backend Engineer role. You will work on high-throughput systems, optimize APIs for performance, and ensure backend reliability for a consumer-facing platform.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js
• Design clean, efficient, and high-performance REST APIs
• Optimize systems for low latency, high concurrency, and reliability
• Implement caching strategies (Redis / in-memory) to improve performance
• Design and manage MongoDB schemas, queries, and indexing strategies
• Monitor, debug, and resolve production issues proactively
• Ensure high availability and system stability during peak traffic
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and data teams for seamless integration
• Complete ownership of the backend and related systems including design, development, deployment, performance and lifecycle management

Requirements

• 3–6 years of backend development experience (consumer apps preferred)
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and API design
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB (schema design, indexing, optimization)
• Experience with caching systems like Redis
• Understanding of system design fundamentals (HLD/LLD)
• Experience with AI coding assistants like Claude Code/Cursor/Copilot
• Strong problem-solving and debugging mindset
• Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
• Focus on scalability, performance, and reliability
• Experience working with production-scale systems

Nice to have:

• Experience in OTT, media-tech, or RMG platforms
