About This Role
This engineering role focuses on building and scaling reliable backend systems using Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript. The Backend Engineer will develop APIs, microservices, and data-intensive services for a growing, mid-size engineering organization.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS
- Build and maintain microservices-based architectures
- Develop scalable REST and event-driven APIs
- Work with SQL and NoSQL data stores including PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and OpenSearch
- Design efficient data models and optimize database performance
- Implement real-time and event-driven systems using MQTT
- Ensure backend systems are secure, scalable, and reliable
- Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams
- Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in backend or full-stack development
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js
- Expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript
- Experience building services with NestJS or similar Node.js frameworks
- Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL
- Experience with DynamoDB, OpenSearch, or similar technologies
- Understanding of microservices, messaging, and distributed systems
- Comfortable working in a fast-growing, mid-size company environment
