Back-end Developer

About This Role

Developing and maintaining the server-side logic and databases that power the company's applications is the crucial core of this full-time role. This position directly impacts the performance, scalability, and reliability of the digital infrastructure, making it essential to the company's technical foundation and continued growth.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust back-end solutions using industry-standard programming languages and frameworks
• Build and maintain databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and optimal performance
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs and web services that enable seamless communication between front-end and back-end systems
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code that adheres to established coding standards and best practices
• Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to ensure code quality
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues and performance bottlenecks
• Participate in testing and quality assurance processes to identify and fix bugs before deployment
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovations for the systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience as a Back-end Developer or similar role
• Strong proficiency in at least one server-side programming language such as Java, Python, PHP, Node.js, C#, or Go
• Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and web services
• Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git
• Understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
