About the role
We are seeking a talented Senior AI & Backend Engineer to design and scale the server-side foundation of our next-generation platform. In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-scale distributed backend systems and advanced LLM architectures. You will take end-to-end ownership—from writing high-concurrency microservices and orchestrating complex agentic workflows to managing production deployments on Kubernetes.
Core Responsibilities
- High-Performance Services: Architect, build, and optimize scalable backend microservices utilizing Python, FastAPI, and async messaging patterns .
- Agentic & AI Infrastructure: Design durable, multi-step LLM workflows, autonomous agent frameworks, and high-retrieval RAG pipelines.
- Resilient Workflows: Implement durable execution engines (such as Temporal ) to ensure fault-tolerant, long-running processes across distributed services.
- Data Layer Management: Model, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL databases, creating clean schema migrations (using ORMs like Drizzle) to support evolving product features.
- Cloud & Platform Operations: Own the deployment lifecycle, containerizing services, and scaling workloads on managed Kubernetes (EKS) environments.
- Technical Leadership: Lead architectural discussions, conduct thorough code reviews, and drive system reliability and incident resolution.
What You’ll Bring
- 4+ years of professional experience engineering complex software applications in production.
- Modern Python Proficiency: Deep hands-on experience with asynchronous Python development, FastAPI, and high-concurrency paradigms.
- Applied AI Engineering: Proven track record of architecting real-world LLM applications, RAG systems, and agent frameworks (focusing on system architecture rather than basic prompt engineering).
- Relational Database Expertise: Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL, query optimization, and modern ORM abstractions.
- Infrastructure & DevOps Foundations: Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Mindset: An exceptional problem-solver who thrives in greenfield ("zero legacy") environments, value-driven execution, and team-first engineering culture.
