About This Role
This paid remote internship is for college students who are freshers and want to start a career in backend development. It offers practical exposure to building server-side applications, developing APIs, working with databases, implementing backend functionality, and supporting scalable web applications.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining backend applications and server-side functionality
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs for web and application-based projects
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient backend code using relevant programming languages and frameworks
- Work with databases to store, retrieve, update, and manage application data
- Implement business logic, authentication, validation, and application functionality
- Integrate backend services with frontend applications and third-party APIs
- Test, debug, and troubleshoot backend applications and APIs
- Assist in identifying and resolving performance, reliability, and security-related issues
- Work with SQL or NoSQL databases based on project requirements
- Use Git and version-control practices to manage source code and development workflows
- Document APIs, code, technical approaches, and development progress clearly
- Collaborate with remote team members and complete assigned development tasks and deliverables on time
Requirements
- Suitable for freshers with an interest in backend development, software development, web development, or a related area
- Basic understanding of programming concepts and object-oriented programming
- Familiarity with at least one backend programming language such as Node.js, Python, Java, PHP, or similar technologies
- Basic understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, and client-server architecture
- Basic knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases and database concepts
- Strong logical reasoning, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing deadlines responsibly
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with frameworks such as Express.js, Django, Flask, Spring Boot, or similar technologies
- Basic knowledge of Git and version control
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, and basic application security
