Back End Developer

About This Role

Designing, developing, and maintaining robust, secure, and efficient financial systems is the core of this role for a highly skilled and experienced Java Backend Engineer. This team is the technical backbone of the company's digital strategy, combining innovative software development with rigorous financial security protocols to deliver seamless experiences that empower customers. The role offers autonomy to drive real change, flexibility, and the tools needed to deliver with impact.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java Spring Boot or Quarkus
• Implement microservices architecture to ensure scalability and maintainability
• Develop REST and SOAP APIs, documented using Swagger
• Integrate with databases using ORM frameworks and ensure efficient DB connectivity
• Develop and maintain messaging services using JMS and Solace
• Ensure seamless API connectivity using platforms such as Kong or Axway
• Manage project dependencies and build processes using Maven
• Collaborate with the team using Git for version control
• Containerize applications using Docker for consistent deployment
• Utilize Azure DevOps (ADO) for CI/CD pipelines and project management

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in microservice API development using Java frameworks
• Deep expertise in Java Spring Boot or Quarkus frameworks
• Extensive experience in cloud-native microservices development and API-first design
• Expertise with Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), SKE, and OpenShift
• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar databases
• Knowledge of API and backend security mechanisms including OAuth2, JWT, encryption, and secrets management
• Demonstrated ability in building FaaS and Dev-in-a-box platforms
• Strong experience in API integrations across enterprise systems and external vendors
• Practical experience with observability and monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, ElasticAPM, Grafana, Prometheus, or the ELK stack
• Proficiency in core Java concepts: OOP, data structures, algorithms, and frameworks including Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Apache Struts
