Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, masking, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Apply primers, paints, coatings, and finishes using conventional spray guns, airless paint sprayers, or auto body refinishing equipment
- Perform surface repairs including dent removal, welding, and auto glass replacement as needed for proper surface preparation
- Use hand tools, grinders, power tools, and buffing machines to refine surfaces and achieve smooth, polished finishes
- Conduct auto restoration tasks such as detailing, buffing, and auto body refinishing to restore vehicles to their original condition
- Follow safety protocols including proper use of respiratory protection and handling of paints and chemicals
- Collaborate with the team on vehicle maintenance assessments and auto estimating to ensure accurate repairs and customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive painting within a dealership or auto body shop environment is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, grinders, sanders, and buffing equipment
- Familiarity with welding techniques and auto restoration processes enhances your versatility on the job
- Knowledge of automotive surface preparation including masking techniques and sanding procedures
- Experience operating spray guns
- Proficiency in automotive buffing for finishing touches
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated with auto body repair and painting projects
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on quality workmanship and attention to detail
- Additional mechanic experience or auto estimating skills are a plus for broader responsibilities
