Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and general mechanic work on construction vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with engines, motors, and other key vehicle components
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify faulty components or systems and implement effective solutions
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices
- Repair and replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g., leaks)
- Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the smooth operation of construction projects
- Keep logs on work and issues, and maintain equipment and tools in good condition
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Auto-Mechanic, preferably within the construction industry
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of vehicles and construction equipment
- Proficiency in using various tools (e.g., pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g., lift)
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
- Ability to handle various tools (e.g., pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g., lift)
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
- Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight
- Valid license to practice profession or relevant certification (e.g., ASE) is preferred
