Responsibilities
- Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, sheet metal work, and structural realignment using hand tools, power tools, and automotive welding equipment
- Conduct welding repair tasks such as MIG welding, soldering, and fabrication repair techniques to restore vehicle frames and panels
- Utilize sanding tools, airless paint spraying, and automotive body refinishing methods to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish
- Install automotive parts including auto glass, bumpers, trim pieces, and other components with precision and care
- Execute automotive cosmetic repairs such as auto painting, detailing, and auto restoration projects to enhance vehicle appearance
- Apply auto estimating skills to assess damage and determine the scope of repairs needed
- Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks like heavy lifting, assembly, and working with automotive parts to ensure safety and quality standards are met
Requirements
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or in a similar role within a dealership or repair shop environment
- Strong knowledge of auto body repair techniques including welding repair, sheet metal fabrication, sanding tools, and auto painting
- Skilled in MIG welding, soldering, fabrication repair techniques, and automotive welding equipment operation
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems for effective diagnostics and repairs
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, auto estimating software, and detailing equipment
- Experience with automotive structural repair, auto restoration projects, and cosmetic refinishing processes
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during all stages of repair work
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate clearly about repair processes and timelines
