ATTORNEY / LITIGATION ATTORNEY

Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
Client Base: KwaZulu-Natal & Johannesburg

A boutique law firm based in Durban is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Attorney to join its growing practice.

The firm provides legal services to a diverse client base across KwaZulu-Natal and Johannesburg, and is looking for an attorney with strong litigation experience who is able to work independently, manage matters effectively and provide high-quality legal advice to clients.

Minimum Requirements

• LLB degree
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
• Minimum 3 years' post-admission experience
• Right of appearance in the High Court
• Proven experience in litigation
• Experience in labour law
• Experience in civil and commercial law
• Working knowledge of public law, with specific emphasis on municipal law
• Strong legal drafting, research and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage matters independently and work to deadlines
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel when required

Key Responsibilities

• Managing litigation matters from inception through to finalisation
• Drafting pleadings, notices, affidavits, applications, legal opinions and correspondence
• Appearing in the High Court and other relevant forums
• Handling civil, commercial and labour matters
• Providing legal advice and strategic guidance to clients
• Conducting legal research and preparing legal opinions
• Advising on public law and municipal law matters
• Managing client matters and maintaining strong client relationships
• Preparing for consultations, hearings, trials and other legal proceedings
• Liaising with clients, counsel, experts and other relevant stakeholders
