Business Function Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.
Job Purpose Responsible for managing end-to-end Corporate Action activities , ensuring accurate, timely and compliant processing of both voluntary and involuntary events . The role requires strong attention to detail, effective stakeholder management and the ability to manage highly time-sensitive and market-driven activities .
Key Responsibilities End-to-End Corporate Action Processing
- Manage voluntary and involuntary Corporate Action events from announcement through completion.
- Review event details, validate eligibility and ensure accurate processing of client entitlements.
- Handle activities such as dividends, interest, bonus, rights, mergers, tender offers and other market events.
Event Tracking & Monitoring
- Track Corporate Action announcements, deadlines, record dates, ex-dates and payment dates.
- Ensure all critical milestones are monitored and actioned within prescribed timelines.
- Proactively follow up on pending inputs and exceptions to avoid missed deadlines.
Voluntary Corporate Actions & Voting
- Manage client elections and instructions for voluntary events within market deadlines.
- Coordinate and facilitate proxy voting / voting-related activities, ensuring instructions are captured, validated and submitted accurately.
- Monitor outstanding elections and escalate potential risks before cut-off times.
Time-Critical Operations
- Manage activities where strict market and client deadlines apply.
- Prioritise urgent events and ensure timely execution to prevent financial, operational or client impact.
- Provide timely escalation and follow-up on exceptions and deadline-sensitive matters.
Risk & Compliance
- Ensure Corporate Action processing is performed in line with internal controls, market practices and regulatory requirements.
- Perform appropriate validations and maker-checker controls.
- Identify operational risks, investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, custodians, agents and other stakeholders for timely completion of events.
- Provide clear and timely communication on event status, pending actions and exceptions.
