Associate Professor / Professor - Global Economics

About This Role

This position is a full-time, tenure-stream role at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, focusing on global economics. The successful candidate will conduct research, teach, and contribute to the academic community, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Sustain, lead, and publish innovative and independent scholarly research
• Maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program
• Teach economics to students from a wide range of academic backgrounds in the Munk School’s undergraduate and professional graduate programs (Master of Global Affairs and Master of Public Policy)
• Fulfill service and teaching load assignments

Requirements

• PhD in Economics
• Clearly demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching
• Work that engages with economic policy and/or reflects a deep understanding of global economics (particularly interested in)
• Research and teaching interests that complement and enhance existing strengths
• Evidence of research excellence, including a record of sustained high-impact publications in top-ranked and/or field-relevant academic outlets, submitted research statement, presentations at significant conferences, awards or accolades, other noteworthy activities that contribute to the visibility and prominence of the discipline, and strong endorsements from referees of high standing
• Evidence of excellence in teaching demonstrated through teaching accomplishments, a teaching dossier, and strong letters of reference
