About This Role
This leadership role involves overseeing the design of electrical systems, including extra-low voltage and weak current systems, for various building types. The position suits an experienced Electrical Engineer who can manage a team, ensure design compliance with international standards, and liaise with clients and authorities.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the design of electrical systems, including ELV (Extra Low Voltage)/Weak Current Systems for buildings, hospitality, commercial, and industrial projects
- Lead and supervise the Electrical Engineering team in implementing project objectives, plans, and programs within the department as directed by management
- Ensure that project designs/studies from clients are completed in accordance with acceptable prescribed standards for each requesting party’s place/country of origin and its intent/content
- Be responsible for liaison with local supply authorities to gain approvals, when necessary
- Manage and maintain the record of all incoming and outgoing drawings from the office in accordance with WSP QA procedures
- Liaise with WSP personnel and WSP’s partners, both local and foreign affiliates and clients
- Liaise and coordinate with other disciplines of the design team
- Manage and control outputs in accordance with the design work program
- Attend meetings when required, both local and overseas
- At all times exhibit behavior consistent with that of a professional member of WSP
- Be responsible for training and development of subordinates and the Electrical Engineering team
- Create regular reports on project status for management
- Keep abreast of technical updates and advise management
- Assist in multidisciplinary project activities
- Use electrical software and 3D modeling to develop electrical system designs
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering
- At least 15 years of experience in a similar capacity
- Knowledge in Bluebeam Revu, Autocad, Revit MEP, PowerCad-5, AGI, and Dialux
- Experience with Lightning, Power, Security, and Data Lay-outs Schematic Design and Single Lines
