Role Description This full-time, on-site Assistant Store Manager role is based in Orange, CA. The Assistant Store Manager supports overall store operations, including supervising daily activities, coordinating staff scheduling, and maintaining visual merchandising standards that reflect PUMA’s brand. This role partners with the Store Manager to drive sales, foster a customer-centric environment, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Day-to-day responsibilities include coaching team members, monitoring store performance, overseeing cash handling, and supporting inventory management and loss prevention processes. The Assistant Store Manager also contributes to local marketing initiatives, ensures adherence to company policies, and promotes an inclusive, performance-driven culture.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills, with a focus on delivering a premium in-store experience and building long-term customer relationships.
  • Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and the ability to provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members.
  • Candidates should possess Store Management capabilities, including experience in supervising staff, managing workflows, and supporting sales and operational targets in a retail environment.
  • Candidates should possess Retail Loss Prevention awareness, including basic knowledge of shrink control, cash handling procedures, and adherence to security and compliance guidelines.
  • Additional beneficial qualifications include prior experience in fashion or sports retail, basic proficiency with POS systems and retail software, and strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; post-secondary education in Business, Retail Management, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move merchandise, and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary.
