Assistant Professor - Accounting

About This Role

This Assistant Professor position in Accounting involves teaching a range of accounting courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including financial, managerial, analytics, or internal audit. The faculty member will also conduct research for respected accounting journals and contribute to service at department, college, or university levels.

Responsibilities

• Teach at both graduate and undergraduate levels in traditional and accelerated formats
• Actively engage in scholarly activities, conducting research, developing grants, presenting professional papers, and publishing in peer-reviewed journals
• Participate in shared governance, typically in department, college, and university committees and other service assignments
• Organize all classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS)
• Demonstrate awareness and experience in understanding the needs of a diverse student population through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Accounting by start of appointment
• Scholarly Academic qualification under AACSB standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a socially and economically diverse student population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching, and other comparable experience

Nice to have:

• Professional experience in corporate accounting or assurance
• Professional designations such as Certified Public Accountant
• Excellent teaching experience at the university level
