The Assistant Principal at the School of St. Mary plays a crucial role in supporting the principal and contributing to the school's mission and vision. This position involves managing day-to-day operations, supporting faculty and staff, and ensuring a positive and effective learning environment for students. The assistant principal also plays a vital role in upholding the Catholic identity and values of the school.
Key Responsibilities And Duties
- Support School Leadership: The Assistant Principal works closely with the Principal in managing the school, including faculty, staff, and students, focusing on curriculum, instruction, and student discipline.
- Implement School Mission and Vision: The Assistant Principal ensures that all policies, procedures, and practices align with our Catholic mission and vision.
- Supervise and Support Staff: This includes supervising teachers, staff, and volunteers, providing professional development opportunities, and supporting their professional growth.
- Manage Student Affairs: This may include overseeing attendance, student discipline, and ensuring a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate with Faculty and Community: The Assistant Principal fosters a collaborative environment within the school community and works with parents, parish members, and other stakeholders to support the school's mission.
- Curriculum and Instruction: The Assistant Principal may assist in curriculum development, implementation, and review, ensuring alignment with school goals and standards.
- Maintain and Improve School Environment: This includes monitoring and improving the overall school environment, including physical facilities, safety, and security.
- Advocate for Students: The Assistant Principal supports student academic and social-emotional growth and advocates for their needs.
- Develop and Implement Initiatives: The Assistant Principal may be involved in developing and implementing initiatives to support student development, leadership, and community engagement.
- Represent the School: The Assistant Principal may represent the school at various events, meetings, and in communication with external stakeholders.
- Other Duties as Assigned: The Assistant Principal may be assigned additional duties as needed by the Principal.
