Assistant Principal

About This Role

This leadership role offers a rare opportunity for an experienced and aspirational leader to help create, shape, and lead a flourishing Catholic community at the very beginning of its story. As a member of the College Executive Team, the Assistant Principal works closely with the Principal across the four pillars of the Quality Catholic Education Framework: Catholic Identity, Education, Community, and Stewardship. A proportion of the role will involve teaching.

Responsibilities

• Shape the Marist identity, traditions, and liturgical life of the College
• Lead play-based, inquiry-rich learning and walk alongside educators through coaching and reflective practice
• Oversee student wellbeing, restorative practices, and support for students with additional learning needs
• Lead College life, co-curricular programmes, and authentic partnerships with families and parish
• Contribute to strategic direction, recruitment, systems, and day-to-day operations

Requirements

• Accreditation to Lead (completed or working towards)
• Relevant four-year tertiary qualification
• Minimum seven years teaching experience
• Previous experience as an Assistant Principal will be an advantage
• Current Working with Children Check and TRBWA registration

St Marcellin Catholic College is a Foundation K–12 College in the Marist tradition, located in the coastal community of Madora Bay. In 2027, it will enter its third year of operation with Pre-Kindergarten to Year 4, growing organically towards a full K–12 pathway by 2035 and a community of approximately 1,600 students.
