About the role
Role Overview The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a registered nurse responsible for supporting clinical and operational activities within the CVICU. Reporting to the unit director/manager, the ANM utilizes the nursing process to oversee patient care, organize services, and provide managerial presence across shifts. This leadership role involves planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating unit functions to ensure exceptional patient care and staff support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily clinical operations within the CVICU
- Support the planning, organization, and evaluation of nursing services
- Provide managerial presence and leadership during all shifts
- Utilize nursing knowledge to ensure patient safety and quality care
- Collaborate with staff to foster a culture of excellence and teamwork
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BS or BSN); current California RN license
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- California Fire and Life Safety Card within 30 days of hire
- Preferred experience in acute care, charge nurse roles, leadership, and shared governance
