Assistant Manager (Retail/Storage)

About This Role

An Assistant Manager at Prime Storage Group is at the heart of self-storage facilities, handling everything from renting units and trucks to selling merchandise. This dynamic role involves frequent customer interactions and property maintenance, focusing on building exceptional customer relationships and enhancing sales and service.

Responsibilities

• Rent out self-storage units, parking spaces, and other related products
• Convert telephone and walk-in inquiries into rentals
• Maintain accounts receivables through the pursuit of collections, posting of payments, and processing
• Deliver daily bank deposits accurately and timely
• Upsell moving products and assist in unit sizing decisions
• Greet customers promptly, enthusiastically and professionally
• Understand and sell the features and benefits of the property at all opportunities
• Resolve customer issues in a timely and effective manner
• Consistently deliver exceptional customer service and actively contribute to achieving positive customer reviews and feedback, in alignment with company customer-experience standards and performance expectations
• Ensure that company standards of cleanliness and appearance are met
• Inspect the property, including performing lock checks
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both in person and over the phone
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Technically savvy with the ability to learn new applications and Point of Sale systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft products such as Outlook is required
• Physically able to perform routine maintenance duties daily such as walking the property to assess areas of need, maintaining cleanliness of bathrooms, office and hallways, weeding, operating power tools, changing light bulbs and other maintenance related duties
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Possession of a valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation
• Availability for travel and flexibility to work at various locations
